WeESG was founded by former colleagues from the University of Cambridge’s Centre for Sustainable Finance. As finance practitioners, they saw how regulation and client demand was shifting the focus of sustainable finance away from a niche offering to something all institutions had to embrace. However, they had concerns that available sustainable finance training, was insufficient in providing the actual knowledge and skills needed to fully implement the changes required.
Our mission is to ensure the success of sustainable finance by providing market-leading skills development for all financial institutions, multilateral development banks, corporates – and their key stakeholders – in any global financial market.

Today, the core team stretches across five continents. They share a common drive to provide all clients with the highest quality training programmes that deliver real-world impact. This consistency is why WeESG has now trained over 25,000 practitioners, across 200 institutions, in over 35 countries, including many of the world’s most recognisable financial institutions.
WeESG is headquartered at The Entopia Building, a multi-award-winning sustainable building retrofit project located in the heart of Cambridge. Following the announcement of a partnership with the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL), WeESG and CISL can now also offer combined sustainability leadership and skills development programmes to both sets of clients.
